Ukraine pledged to be ready to face a possible expansion of the frontline beyond the existing eastern and southern battlefields.<\/p>\n
The recent improvements in Russian technology and increased weapons production may be an indication Moscow is planning to launch new attacks elsewhere.<\/p>\n
But Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev, responsible for Ukraine’s northern border defence, told ABC News Ukraine is gearing up to face that possibility.<\/p>\n
He said: “We are getting ready for that. We’re building defences, putting mines, and training our forces.”<\/p>\n
Ukraine is also seeking to curb Russia’s electronic warfare by calling on its allies who have issued sanctions against the Kremlin to identify firms involved in the development of this industry and cut off the supply, the Guardian reported on the weekend.<\/p>\n
