A beautiful seaside village in Italy has received a seal of approval from Italians who visit every year for their domestic holidays.

Caletta Sant’Elia is a tiny community in Sicily nestled in a curve on the island’s east coast in the commune of Palermo.

Year-round, the village is home to 733 residents who subsist on local fishing, but during the summer, that population quickly inflates.

The community receives a portion of the approximately 4.89 million people who visit Sicily every year, many of whom are Italians seeking a dose of island life.

Sant’Elia has a glittering reputation for crystal-clear waters and local cuisine, enticing a growing number of fans.
