A Denver jury on Tuesday convicted a defendant of first-degree murder in a 2020 shooting death.<\/p>\n
Steven Daniel Young is guilty in the death of 32-year-old Charly Lewis, according to the Denver District Attorney’s Office.<\/p>\n
On June 7, 2020, Lewis\u2019s body was found in an alley behind 1065 Federal Boulevard, a news release said.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s believed that Young killed Lewis, in part, because she had witnessed Young commit a murder six days earlier in Aurora,” the release said.\u00a0Young was convicted of the Aurora murder in April of 2021.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am grateful to the jury for reaching this verdict, which I hope will provide some measure of comfort to Charly Lewis\u2019s family,”\u00a0said\u00a0Assistant District Attorney Maggie Conboy, in the release.<\/p>\n
Young faces life in prison without the possibility of parole when he\u2019s sentenced on Sept. 8.<\/p>\n
