William and Kate ‘trusted’ to be at ‘front’ of family as Sussexes look ‘global’

Prince William and Kate Middleton are being pushed to the front of the Royal Family as they embark on a series of overseas tours, according to a royal commentator.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge already have a busy start to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year with several visits to other countries.

William has already been overseas with his first-ever visit to the United Arab Emirates for the Expo 2020 Dubai, as royal fans went wild for his photo next to a police supercar.

Kate is also set for a rare solo tour overseas as she meets members of the Danish Royal Family in Copenhagen.

There have also been reports that by March the couple will be on a third overseas visit but this time together.

It has been expected to embark on the 12-day tour in March across Commonwealth nations, including Belize, Bahamas and Jamaica, according to the Express.

According to reports, these Commonwealth visits are to strengthen the connections between these countries and the Royal Family following Barbados' decision to become independent.

  • Harry and Meghan may feature in Charles’ coronation despite Meghan’s hesitance to travel

Royal commentator and deputy editor of Royal Central Britanni Badger believes Kate and William being chosen for the task shows that the family have “trust” in them to be the face of the family as future king and queen.

“I think they are putting more trust in them to be at the forefront,” Bitanni told the Daily Star.

“With The Queen's age, she doesn't travel now, and Charles and Camilla are in their 70s. By having William and Kate step up for these things, it also helps out the Prince of Wales.”

  • Concern as royal fans say Queen 'thinner and thinner' in first outing since Covid scare

As William and Kate look set to visit several parts of the world this year, with more expected throughout the year, they may follow Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after the couple was branded a “global sensation” after research by Printique.

The study highlighted how the Sussexes have a “powerful influence all around the world” through social media.

However, Britanni feels that William and Kate’s overseas tours are not in response to Meghan and Harry but rather the Duke and Duchess fulfilling their royal duties.

She added: “The Cambridges have been introduced to a global audience for a while now. They've made several overseas visits since they got married in 2011. This is just the latest in a series.

“They've been to Canada, the US, Asia, New Zealand, Australia, the Middle East and several countries in Europe. They are very popular, and this trip to the Caribbean is a way to promote the Royal Family and keep good relations.

“They've been undertaking trips abroad since before Harry met Meghan, so I don't think this is in any response to them. This is just them doing their job as a future king and queen. They are working royals with William as a future monarch. These trips come with the territory no matter what someone else is doing.”
