TUI holiday from hell with ‘sewage stink’ in dirty room and ‘fly-infested food’

A mum has been left raging after her disastrous all-inclusive TUI holiday was allegedly riddled with bugs and the raw stink of sewage.

As a gift from loved ones, Shauni Reed, from Kent, was packed off to Tossa De Mer, Spain, but what greeted her on the other side was not what she bargained for.

She has shared images showing bugs on rancid food and an insect-infested bathroom.

Members of her family attended the seven-day trip but, upon arrival, a nasty smell dominated her room as soon as she entered, she said.

On top of all this, Shauni claimed she also had insects running riot in her room, which in turn was unclean.

She even claimed that the bathroom in her room had – according to the rota – not been cleaned since 2021,The Mirrorreports.

Shauni reckoned the queue for the buffet was an hour long and the food had flies and fly eggs sitting on it leaving her questioning the three stars the establishment had earned for itself.

So bad were the culinary offerings, she said, that they were forced to render their all-inclusive deal worthless by being forced to eat out every night.

She said: "The food was inedible, with flies and fly eggs on the food.

"You had to queue for about an hour to even get in there. The place was unclean and filthy.

"The staff were rude and threatened to call the police on us within the first hour of being there. My room smelled of sewage."

On top of it all she claimed the staff didn’t help, adding that a member of staff threatened to call the cops on the family because one of them was wearing a pool top on top of their swimming costume.

The lifeguard shouted at them in a “rude” way, she said, and after an apology from the manager assurances that they wouldn’t see them again were shattered when they appeared back on shift a couple of days later.

She claims promises from TUI about a new hotel were never fulfilled because everything else nearby was booked.

"Even though TUI said they would move us, nothing happened," she said.

"The lifeguard was so rude, even the manager apologised and said she wouldn't be there for the rest of our stay. Two days later she was back.

"The staff threatened to call the police for wearing a pool top on top of a swimsuit. The food was inedible, we ate in the town and never ate at the all-inclusive. We wanted to leave and couldn't wait to be home."

"The reviews were good of the place. It looked good at first, but we couldn't wait to be home.

"I would still go to Spain, just not to that part again."

The Daily Star has contacted TUI for comment.
