Queen will be ‘in despair’ over actions of family members, claims commentator
January 20, 2022
The Queen will be "holding her hands up in despair" over the recent actions of some of her family members, a royal expert has claimed.
Jennie Bond made the remarks after Prince Andrew was stripped of his honorary military titles following the Duke of York facing a civil trial case accused of sexual assault, as well as Prince Harry's recent demands for police protection when visiting the UK.
In recent days, allegations against the Duke of York were explored in a new ITV documentary called Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile, reports OK!
Presenter Ranvir Singh recently delved into the accusations against Prince Andrew as he prepares for his civil trial against sexual assault. All claims that he has vehemently denied.
Expert Jennie Bond said: "I think The Queen will be holding her hands up in despair."
The expert added that there should be some "equity" after Prince Harry's military titles were stripped when he stepped back as a senior royal in 2020.
She said: "Everybody feels for the Queen now with the Andrew debacle, but I think there has to be some equity between Harry and Andrew now.
"There was the argument and it probably wasn't correct, but if Harry has been stripped of his titles then Andrew should have been some time ago."
Harry also made headlines this week as it's been reported that he could be planning to take legal action against the British government if he is denied police protection when he visits the UK, despite having offered to pay for it himself.
Legal representatives for the Duke of Sussex released a statement detailing the prince may seek a judicial review of the Home Office's decision over police security for his family for when he visits the UK.
According to Jennie, Prince Andrew's security should be revised too.
She said: "If Harry is not going to be allowed to have security over here unless he's staying in a royal residence then perhaps Andrew's security should be looked at too."
On the other hand, the expert says Harry should look at the life he has chosen after moving to the US.
She explains: "There has to be some kind of equity between the two of them but Harry needs to look at himself, he's chosen this way of life, he wants to be regarded as a royal citizen, and he can't pick and choose like this."
Buckingham Palace has been contacted for comment.
