The Queen has been advised by her doctors to continue to rest for at least the next two weeks, meaning she will not undertake any official visits during this time, Buckingham Palace has said.

The news comes after Her Majesty spent the night in hospital in what is understood to have been a cautious decision made by her medical team on Wednesday, October 20.

ITV Royal Editor Chris Ship tweeted: "The Queen has been ordered to rest for the next TWO weeks and is cancelling engagements in her diary until then.

"She will no longer attend the Remembrance event on Saturday 13 November.

"Medics say she can do light duties and virtual meetings only."

The monarch was forced to cancel a royal trip to Northern Ireland on medical advice last week.

She has also been forced to give up her daily "tonic" of walking her dogs after she was rushed to hospital last week, sources say.

The Queen owns two corgi puppies and a dorgi Candy, which her friends and family say has helped keep her healthy due to taking them for walks.

It is believed to be one of the highlights of her day, when she is driven to walk her dogs on her Windsor estate near Frogmore.

But sources have since told the Daily Mail that her dogs are currently being walked by her staff after she was told to rest by doctors.

During her rest time, Kate Middleton and Her majesty have allegedly been "talking more than ever", a royal insider claimed.

The source told US Weekly that Kate "has a special bond with the Queen" and the pair share "one-on-one phone conversations".

"Kate sent the queen a huge bouquet of flowers from her family," they said.

"George, Charlotte and Louis made ‘get well soon’ cards."

The royals have reportedly been urging the Queen to "take it easy" since she returned home to Windsor.
