A depraved pub landlord accused of playing a role in a women's sex role-play death died of an overdose in jail.
Jerome Dangar was being investigated over the death of sex cam girl Hope Barden who died while performing for him during an online bondage session.
Dangar, who was accused of manslaughter, had paid the 21-year-old graduate to take part in the session and failed to call for assistance even though he could see she was in distress, StokeonTrentLive reports.
He was in HMP Dartmoor, Devon, after being jailed in January 2019 for possession of extreme pornography.
An inquest in Exeter, Devon, was told that Dangar, 45, stockpiled prescription medication in his cell before he was found dead in April 2019.
A Home Office pathologist said he died from being poisoned by propranolol, a drug used to treat anxiety.
The inquest jury heard Dangar had been on remand at HMP Exeter before he was given a 15-month sentence at Truro Crown Court in January 2019.
A day before he was found dead, Dangar learned he was to be re-interviewed by Staffordshire Police over the manslaughter of Hope.
