Poor puppy born with an extra leg and tail is pooing out of both her bums

A mutant puppy born with five legs, an extra tail, two sets of private parts and a second backside has left staff at a dog shelter baffled.

The shelter in Puerto Rico took on the little animal, called Mia, when its owners were unable to look after her or afford her medical treatment.

Mia’s extra foot and tail are located by her spine, next to her stomach. The poor little thing suffers with diarrhoea and constipation due to her genetic disorder.

As well as her extra limb and tail, the little dog has an extra “down-below” and a second bum, too.

The shelter’s Sharon Solano said Mia goes to the loo through both her bottoms, and it causes the wee pooch discomfort.

Now, Casas Cuna is trying to raise some money so it can have X-rays, an ultrasound and then surgery to sort it out.

“Your help is essential, it will be expensive but the puppy is a priority,” the shelter said.

Casas Cuna, which is in Puntarenas, has shared a clip of the puppy drinking from a bowl, along with the message: “Watch Mia drinking water. We are busy deworming. She has lots of bugs.”

The rest of Mia’s litter were all born normally and have been adopted locally.

Freaks of nature happen from time to time.

Earlier this year, a weird mutant chick was born with four legs in Turkey.

Apart from its extra pair of limbs, the odd-looking creature seems to be perfectly normal.

All four legs are in working order. It appears to stand on its two main legs, with the other two slightly off the ground, and it’s just as active as farmer Servet Basaran’s other baby chickens.

Servet said the little chick was a gift from God.
