It came after Ms Trump drew outrage over leaked comments she made to a former aide about having to set up the “f****** Christmas” decorations each year.

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, former advisor to the First Lady, secretly recorded Mrs Trump raging about the annual decorations and being criticised for Mr Trump’s immigration policy.

Mrs Trump said: “I’m working … my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f****** about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?”

“OK, and then I do it and I say that I’m working on Christmas and planning for the Christmas and they said, ‘Oh, what about the children that they were separated?’ Give me a f****** break.”

The Trumps also thanked the scientists and workers who “tirelessly” worked to make the coronavirus vaccine breakthrough in the US.

Ms Trump added: “We are battling a global pandemic that has affected all of us, yet through this great challenge, we have been inspired by the kindness and courage of citizens across this country.”

Some social media users criticised President Trump’s handling of the coronavirus and the impacts the pandemic has caused across America.

One user from the US wrote: “Enjoy your Christmas while millions of Americans go hungry, worry about homelessness and how they will survive when their unemployment expires the day after.
