Meghan and Harry nicknamed ‘the Kardashians’ by royal insiders amid Netflix doc

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are known as “the Kardashians” by royal insiders close to Prince William and Kate Middleton, according to sources inside Buckingham Palace.

“William and Kate are active members of the Royal Family who have a job to shine a spotlight on other people, give awards to other people. That's the contrast."

The comparison comes after the controversial couple, who relocated to California after sensationally quitting their frontline royal duties, were accused of deliberately timing the trailer for upcoming bombshell Netflix documentary at the same time as Prince William and Kate Middleton’s tour of America.

A teaser of the new series, titled Harry & Meghan. A Netflix Global Event, was released yesterday (December 1).

The tell-all series for the streaming platform looks set to reveal intimate moments from Harry and Meghan’s private life, with one clip showing the Duchess of Sussex crying into her phone.

Popular TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians also provided viewers with behind-the-scenes access into the lives of its world-famous subjects, drawing comparisons to the Sussexes’ decision to broadcast moments from their own lives.

The source continued to claim the release date was "definitely deliberate, without any question… but not at all unexpected".
