McDonald’s customer so angry at missing breakfast deadline she calls the police
January 23, 2021
It's well known that McDonald's can be ruthless with its 11am breakfast cut off time but one customer was so incensed by missing out on a McMuffin that she phoned the police.
According to the Mirror the customer was caught in a McDonald's drive-thru queue in Southern England before the 11am deadline but missed the cut-off by the time she reached the front to order.
When staff refused to serve her the breakfast menu meal she phoned police in East Grinstead, West Sussex, angry at her perceived "unfair" treatment.
Officers were understandably not best pleased with the call and gave the woman "words of advice" about her behaviour.
Mid Sussex Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Darren Taylor took to Twitter to castigate the unhappy customer.
He tweeted: "A call @11.30 this morning from an angry lady who stated that due to the queue at the McDonald's drive thru in EG, by the time she got to the window the breakfast service had stopped and she couldn't order a breakfast.
"The lady was given words of advice about ringing the Police."
Explaining the situation further to The Sun, Inspector Taylor said: “This, of course, upset her and she wanted us to speak to McDonald’s about the situation as she felt it was unfair.
“We kindly informed her this was an incident which she should take up with McDonald’s and was not a police matter and that we would not be investigating her complaint.”
A Twitter follower replied to the inspector's post joking: "Did you give her a frying!"
"Knew there would be no need to egg you on with the puns," Inspector Taylor replied.
Another called the woman a “McMuppet”.
But one said: “To be fair, I had a sausage and egg piece of heaven this morning and I would have been well narked if I’d missed it.”
