Lightning has been reported across the entire country, as the UK prepares for another evening of thunderstorms and heavy rain. London, in particular, will be expecting a lot of lightning activity into the evening – just like Monday night.

The East and Southeast of England are lightning hotspots currently, with flashes spotted from Brighton, all the way up to Lincoln.

Norwich is enduring huge amounts of storm activity, while Colchester and Chelmsford are also on an upward trajectory.

But, London is also a hotbed of lightning action, with weather stations pinging regularly.

The capital’s southwest is mostly affected, from Teddington up to Shepherd’s Bush.

One Twitter user wrote: “Madness in Islington right now! Thunder, lightning and crazy hail!”

Another said: “More thunder and lightning in London. The apocalypse!”

A third wrote: “Ooo it’s that time of day again folks…rain.. thunder.. lightning… Here we go.”

One person added: “It’s horrendous in Greenwich, suddenly just gone so dark with a loud rumble of thunder.”
