Kate Middleton ‘proved she was ready to be Queen’ at Philip’s funeral – expert

The now-iconic image of Kate Middleton from Prince Phillip’s funeral is said to be the moment the Duchess of Cambridge proved she is fit to be the future queen, according to a royal author.

As the Royal Family and the nation came together to say farewell to the Duke of Edinburgh, Kate’s appearance and conduct stood out during the ceremony.

The image of her sitting in a car with a black mask and veil covering her eyes has become iconic with claims the image and her behaviour throughout the funeral and after the ceremony, displays her capabilities of becoming queen.

Emily Andrews, a royal author, spoke during Channel 5's documentary, 'Kate: Our Queen in Waiting' about how Kate is now seen as a senior figure in the Royal Family.

She said: "Here was a woman at the top of her game, perfectly turned out.

"But also, quite rightly, taking her place as one of the most senior members of the Royal Family.

"I think it was one of those photographs where you really saw Queen Catherine in waiting, frankly."

Kate was also praised for her presence after the funeral as she was seen offering support to many other royals.

She was also seen walking with Prince Harry as they left the chapel, which comes after tensions between the Duke of Sussex and the rest of the Royal Family over his exit from working royal life and claims made in the bombshell Oprah Winfrey Interview.
