A Kill the Bill protester who was allegedly assaulted at a rally in Bristol on Friday night has shared pictures of her horrifying injuries.
The protester, an unnamed woman, sent the images to journalist Aaron Bastani who posted them to the website on her behalf.
Mr Bastani said he was sent the images from someone "assaulted last night in Bristol," where a Kill the Bill protest occurred.
Thousands gathered at the third rally of its kind to protest the Government’s controversial Police and Crime Bill, which is being debated by MPs.
The bill has been blasted as undemocratic by protesters who say it would criminalise the act of protesting in the UK, giving MPs new powers to heavily restrict demonstrations they believe may result in "serious public disorder."
Mr Bastani’s stark images show the extent of the backlash in Bristol, and the force used to contain protests like it.
In the pictures, a woman can be seen laying on her side covered in purple, green and yellow bruises.

Another video shows riot police punching a woman in the face, who can be seen standing in front of officers before being shoved backwards onto the floor.
In response to the footage, Avon and Somerset Police said: "We're aware of a video showing a journalist being confronted by officers during last night's protest in Bristol.
"We're making efforts to contact him. A free press is a cornerstone of our democracy & we fully respect the media's vital role in reporting events fairly & accurately."
