Girl, 11, fighting for her life after serious incident as man and woman arrested

An 11-year-old girl is fighting for her life in hospital following a serious incident today, police have said.

A man and a woman have been arrested after the incident in a Leeds house early this morning.

West Yorkshire Police were called by the ambulance service at around 6.55am, to a property on Stanks Drive in Swarcliffe.

The girl, 11, was rushed to hospital where she remains in a critical condition, writes LeedsLive.

Officers remain at the property and have confirmed a man and woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and are in custody.

A spokesperson from the force said: "At 6.55am today, police were contacted by the ambulance service who had been called to an incident involving an 11-year-old girl at an address in Stanks Drive, Swarcliffe.

"The girl was taken to hospital for emergency treatment and is in a critical condition.

"A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident are currently in custody.

"A scene is in place at the address and enquiries are ongoing."
