Family home with incredible basement diner has one thing putting everyone off

A dream family home with everything from its own American diner to an indoor swimming poll has shockingly had Instagram users turning their noses up at its location.

The $899,900 (£663k) property in Findlay, Ohio boasts a classic American diner in the basement which estate agents Zillow dubbed "the perfect basement".

It also features a large indoor pool, a cinema room, a bar and an ice-cream parlour alongside its four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

The property description on said that the home features a "grand living room w/ fireplace & built-in shelving, beautiful kitchen w/ oversized island, double oven & separate dining area.

"A 2nd living room w/ fireplace, owners suite w/ walk-in tiled spa shower & access to the indoor heated pool (w/ lap conversion), sauna & tiled bathroom.

"The basement is an entertainer's dream: full bar, ice cream parlour, home theatre & add'l bedroom w/ full bath.

"Need room for toys? Utilize the attached or detached garage w/ add'l living space above."

But despite sounding and looking like a dream home for the average American family, Instagram users seemed unimpressed by the fact that the property was located in Findlay because despite it being the second-largest city in Northwest Ohio – people say there isn't much to do there.

One user said: "Yeah the only problem is that you have to live in Findlay."

Another added: "Who would spend $900k in Findlay…? I went to college 20 min from there…there’s just nothing there."

However, others seemed more concerned about needing staff for the basement in their own home as a third wrote: "I’ll only buy it if it comes with a waitress named Darlene, Charlene, or Shirley that calls me 'Hun'."

A fourth commented: "Oh maybe I'm a bit of a masochist 2 want a professional kitchen where I live."
