DIA: FAA hold on inbound flights lifted, weather may affect operations
A federal hold that delayed all airplane flights bound for Denver International Airport Wednesday morning has been lifted, Denver International Airport officials said.
Federal Aviation Administration officials ordered the hold “due to low visibility,” DIA spokeswoman Stephanie Figueroa said.
“There could be a ripple effect and some flights could still be delayed,” Figueroa said. “We advise passengers to check with their airline for up-to-date flight status.”
There were 118 total delays reported as of 9:30 a.m. And 52 flights at DIA were canceled, according to postings on the FlightAware online site.
FAA officials warned that thunderstorms anticipated Wednesday afternoon could affect flights into and out of DIA throughout the day.
