Denver weather: Sunny Friday, but a chance of weekend snow and wind

After a foot of snow this week, more could be on its way to Denver this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Denver’s Friday will be sunny with a high of 46 degrees. Gusty winds will spread down the foothills this morning and then
across the plains late this morning through early afternoon. Blowing snow and sun glare is possible, causing lousy driving conditions. Winds could gust over 30 mph downtown.

In the mountains, scattered light snow showers will occur today, but there will be little accumulation. Denver will fall to 18 degrees Friday night.

On Saturday, Denver has a chance for snow most of the day and into the evening. Denver weather forecasters predict a high of 37 and a low of 14. Snow will continue in the mountains through Saturday afternoon as total snowfall amounts of up to 10 inches are expected for the Park Range and Rabbit Ears Pass, with lighter totals for the other mountain ranges. Most of the state will have cool and windy weather with gusts nearing 50 mph in some regions.

Sunday will be chilly and breezy again as Denver hits 37 degrees under the sunshine, the weather service said. A cool 15-degree Sunday night will give way to temperatures in the 50s to start next week.
