Curious golden retriever joins restaurant staff and helps win tug of war

A playful dog couldn't hold his excitement when he saw a group of people playing tug of war on the street.

The curious golden retriever was having his daily stroll with his owner in the neighbourhood of Chongqing, southwestern China.

In a viral video seen more than 550,000 times on Weibo, a Chinese equivalent of Twitter, they walk past a hotpot restaurant where the members of staff were playing tug of war to boost their team spirit.

The workers are split into two teams as they try to pull the rope towards their sides.

While the workers are stuck in the middle of the game, the pooch decides to pick his side and joins his "teammates" for a little help.

The furry friend runs to the end of the rope and bites onto the it while standing on his hind legs.

He then runs backwards, appearing to drag the rope towards him.

The team starts to move closer to the winning marker with the help of the golden retriever.

A staff working at the hotpot restaurant told KK News: "We were having a little game to boost our team spirit before work because we opened our doors in the afternoon.
