Coronavirus: Hope as 100,000 people have RECOVERED from disease

While the coronavirus continues to spread across the world, data reveals 107,811 people have recovered from the disease; 60,324 in Hubei state of China, 8,913 in Iran, 8,326 in Italy and more than 3,000 in Spain. In Europe, more than 15,000 people have recovered from COVID-19.
Estimates suggest that 99 per cent of people infected with COVID-19 will make a full recovery.
Countries have been struggling to carry out testing as quickly as they would like, meaning the actual figure of recovery is likely to be much higher.
The overall death rate remains low, about one percent, which is less than SARS which was 11 percent but more than the flu, 0.1 per cent.
The epicentre of the pandemic was in Wuhan, China, believed to be at a live food market.
It has been revealed that more cases of the disease have now been confirmed outside of China than within.
China has 81, 400 cases and 2260,000 cases have been reported in other countries across the world.
More than 70,000 people in China have now recovered from the virus.
The country has succeeded in slowing down the rate of infection thanks to containment measures, which were implemented from January.

Wuhan, a city of 11 million people, has been on complete lockdown.
Officials have said that the lockdown in Wuhan will be partially lifted on April 8.
Travel restriction in the Chinese province of Hubei will be also lifted for those locals who are healthy.

This comes as the UK is facing weeks of a lockdown so the country can try and curb the number of new cases.
MPs from both sides of the chamber cheered today as Nadine Dorries returned to the House of Commons after she recovered from coronavirus.
Italy remains the most affected country in Europe and New York is the worst affected part of the United States.
There have now been 6,820 deaths in Italy, 3,160 in Hubei China, 2,800 in China and almost 2,000 in Iran.
