It warned making the allegation could “backfire” and make the allegation “materialize into a reality”. On Tuesday Chinese Defence Minister Wei Fenghe completed a two day visit of Pakistan.
During his time a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the two countries which pledged to strengthen their defence cooperation.
However this sparked anger in India with one tabloid alleging the agreement was aimed at their “common foe – India”.
Another warned the deal is “changing military dynamics in South Asia”.

Lan Jianxue, deputy director of the Asia-Pacific studies department at the China Institute of International Studies, condemned the allegations.
He wrote: “This is obviously an over-interpretation of the actual situation.

“Such interactions do not necessarily have any connection with considerations regarding India.
“It’s hoped politicians and pundits in India will not continue to think that China-Pakistan ties are aimed at India – and create antagonistic actions from this wrong-headed rhetoric.
“It could backfire from being a fantasy and materialize into a reality.
“That won’t be good news for India.”
