Charles ‘thinks Harry trashed his whole family in public’ during Oprah interview

Princes Charles reportedly wishes his son had brought up his grievances “in private” and thinks Princes Harry “trashed his whole family”.

During his interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duke of Sussex made a series of startling allegations against the Royal Family.

He claimed he and Meghan Markle were financially cut off in the first quarter of 2020, and said the Prince of Wales had stopped taking his calls after Megxit.

Charles refused to comment on the interview during a visit to an NHS clinic in London earlier this week.

However, a source told US Weekly: “Charles does not agree with Harry trashing his whole family in public.

“Charles thinks these matters could have easily been addressed in private.”

He and his son Prince William “feel that this is the first of many interviews coming in the future that will bash the crown and the Royals way of life”.

Clarence House declined to comment when approached by the Daily Star.

Harry also claimed that William and Charles were still "trapped" within the royals.

He said: “They don’t get to leave. And I have huge compassion for that.”

He also said he and William were on “different paths” as he was pressed on their relationship by Oprah.

Harry told her: “You know, as I've said before, I love William to bits. He's my brother.

"We've been through hell together. I mean, we have a shared experience. But, you know, we're on different paths."

Meghan claimed that one royal had expressed concerns about how dark Archie’s skin would be.

Oprah later clarified that neither the Queen nor Prince Philip had made the comments.

During a visit to a school in Statrord, east London, the Duke of Cambridge became the first royal to openly comment on the allegations.

He insisted that the royals are “very much not a racist family”.

When asked if he’d spoken to Harry, William said: “No, I haven’t spoken to him yet but I will do.”

He and Kate were marking the return of children to classes this week and the rollout to secondary schools of a mental health project the Duchess of Cambridge launched in primary schools in 2018.

After days of silence, the Queen released a short statement in response reading: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
