‘Black Widow’ got hitman to murder Gucci heir ex after asking grocer to kill him

A murderous woman who organised the killing of her ex-husband and heir to the Gucci empire went round asking “everyone” to carry out the hit – including her local grocer.

Patricia Reggiani arranged the murder of ex-husband Maurizio Gucci in the lobby of his Milan office in 1995.

The couple had divorced four years earlier, and Reggiani was furious she had been left alone to bring up their two daughters.

She also objected to her husband’s sale of the family business to an investment group in 1993.

Reggiani has since given an interview on her time in the San Vittore prison – and how she found someone willing to carry out the murder, the Daily Telegraph reports.

In a documentary released on Monday, January 11, Reggiani said: “I was furious with Maurizio.

"I went around asking everyone, even the local grocer, is there someone who has the courage to murder my husband?

“I can’t aim a gun very well – I couldn’t have done it myself.”

Benedetto Ceraulo was hired to carry out the killing, and was sentenced to 30 years in prison after shooting Gucci.

Reggiani was later sentenced to 26 years, and was eventually released in 2016.

Describing her time inside, Reggiani said: “I was absolutely fine…for me they were years of peace. I slept, I worked in the garden.”

During the trial, her lawyers pleaded mental instability and said she would have been incapable of organising the murder.

However, experts ruled she was fit enough to stand trial, despite her use of heavy medication, depression, and a brain tumour operation in 1992.

A decade ago, she refused an early release from prison in exchange for menial work.

She told a court in Milan: “I've never worked in my life and I'm certainly not going to start now.”

Reggiani now lives in Milan with a pet parrot and is estranged from her two daughters.
