Arapahoe County bomb squad investigating device suspected robber left at bank

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad is investigating a suspicious device left at a bank by a suspected robber.

According to a thread posted on the office’s Twitter account, a man robbed a Key Bank at 20290 E. Smoky Hill Road in unincorporated Arapahoe County.

The thread states the man, who is described as a white man standing 6 feet tall and wearing a dark gray or black hoodie with gray cargo pants, white shoes and a mask, left a device at the bank and fled in an early 2000s model tan Honda Accord.

Smoky Hill Road is closed at Picadilly Street and the bank and nearby businesses have been evacuated while the bomb squad works.

Anyone who has information on the robbery or who sees the suspect is asked to call 911.
