Post-Brexit trade arrangements in Northern Ireland have continued to be a major stumbling block between the two sides. Britain wants large parts of the Protocol completely overhauled, but the EU are refusing any chance of it being renegotiated. Now UK Brexit minister Lord Frost has warned the EU the outstanding issues “need to be dealt with urgently” and has urged Brussels to provide a response to the July Command Paper.
He wrote on Twitter: “The Protocol is clearly having a continued negative effect on everyday life & business in Northern Ireland.
“The outstanding issues now need to be dealt with urgently.
“I and my team are in contact with the EU daily, but we need a full response to our July Command Paper soon.”
