Denver Public Schools is investigating the circumstances that led a student receiving special education services to fall out of a second-story window at John F. Kennedy High School last week, district spokesman Scott Pribble said.
The student, who has not been identified, suffered “some injuries to his lower extremities” and was transported to a hospital, Pribble said.
He did not know the student’s age, the extent of his injuries or whether he was admitted to the hospital.
The fall, which Pribble said is believed to have been accidental, occurred on Aug. 29.
The incident occurred on Aug. 29. The student was in a classroom when he “crawled” out of the window, Pribble said.
When asked whether the classroom was staffed when the student fell from the window, Pribble said, “There was somebody with him we’re still trying to figure out what happened.”
